DIVING IN AMERICA

At TARIFA and COMPANY we are looking for adventures in swim trunks. The American continent offers some of the most acclaimed diving spots by lovers of this sport. From Cozumel to the Cayman Islands, there is a inmense net of islands and hidden corners where time seems to come to a halt under the waves. Here we list a few of our favorites:

Bonaire
Along with Curaçao and Aruba, this island in the Caribeann is part of the Leelard Antilles. A place where it’s always summer and its warm waters offer the prefect habitat for more than 470 species and coral reefs. The ideal destination for those getting started in their dives, as it offers more than 100 diving spots by its beaches.

Bonaire

Cayman Islands
The crystal waters of this part of the Caribeann are home to tropical fish, marine plants in thousands of colors, barracudas, stingrays and dozens of sunken ships from past centuries. A place for all levels of expertise, as their waters have few currents and the immersion points are barely 20 minutes away from the coast.

Islas Caiman

Blue Cenote of Belize
A large circular subaquatic formation of 305m (1000ft) in diameter, hides wonderful coral reefs that guard the entrance to the caves that are part of its structure. Its blue waters are frequent home to hammer and bull sharks, which makes it a popular destination year round.

El Cenote Azul

Cocos Island
The best place for the most experienced divers to experience their hobby. Cocos Island sits in the middle of the Pacific and its tenants include a wide collection of dolphins, humpback and killer whales, and a few sharks.

Isla del Coco

There are few adventures more interesting to enjoy in your TARIFAs. Are you up for them?

3 SPOTS IN SICILY

Sicily offers breathtaking contrasts: sea and volcano never merged so beautifully. With a full offer for outdoor activities, ravishing views and island exploring opportunities, it is the gem of the Mediterranean.

At the heart of the island one can find many archeological treasures, and within them a modern one is Villa Athena Hotel, a perfect spot from where to start your Sicilian adventures.

Athena

Palermo, in ruins
Visit Duomo de Monreale to find the best Byzantine cathedral on the island. Rich with its wonderful mosaics, it’s worth a visit any time of the year. Read more on Tripadvisor.

3 SPOTS IN FORMENTERA

Ibiza’s younger sister, Formentera is the ideal escape for those who prefer easy beach strolls and moped adventures over the glitzy clubs of Ibiza. Barely 20 kilometers long, it is home to some of the Mediterranean’s most ravishing beaches.

In this small island, our first recommendation is a petite hotel, Es Mares, in San Francisco Javier with barely 20 rooms. A perfect corner in a perfect island.

Moped to Cap Barbaria
The southernmost tip of the island is home to an incredible view and its famous lighthouse. Rent a moped and head out to discover one of Formentera’s signature spots.
